dc.description.abstractEn este artículo se reflexiona sobre los posibles escenarios sociales, políticos y culturales derivados del establecimiento de sociedades humanas en Marte. A partir del análisis de factores como el tiempo, el espacio, la terraformación, la ingeniería genética y la inteligencia artificial, se argumenta que la colonización marciana no debe entenderse como un simple avance tecnológico, sino como un desafío profundo para la construcción de instituciones y valores humanos en contextos no terrestres. Se exploran las tensiones identitarias y geopolíticas que podrían surgir entre la Tierra y Marte, proponiendo la necesidad de instituciones interplanetarias que garanticen la justicia, la cooperación y la sostenibilidad. El artículo defiende que la supervivencia humana fuera de la Tierra será posible solo si se acompaña de un esfuerzo ético y humanístico que impida repetir los errores de la historia terrestre.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis article reflects on the potential social, political, and cultural scenarios that may emerge from the establishment of human societies on Mars. By analyzing factors such as time, space, terraforming, genetic engineering, and artificial intelligence the authors argue that Martian colonization should not be viewed merely as a technological milestone, but rather as a profound challenge to the construction of human institutions and values in non-Terrestrial contexts. The text explores identity and geopolitical tensions that could arise between Earth and Mars and underscores the urgent need to develop interplanetary institutions capable of guaranteeing justice, cooperation, and sustainability. The article contends that human survival beyond Earth will only be possible if accompanied by an ethical and humanistic commitment that avoids repeating the historical mistakes made on our home planet.eng
