La investigación cualitativa : ¿un desencuentro con las ciencias de la salud?

dc.description.abstractLa investigación cualitativa ha sido un método utilizado principalmente por las ciencias humanas y sociales. Por ello, en este artículo se parte de la definición de la investigación cualitativa y se referencian diversos aspectos relacionados con la misma como el comportamiento humano, la concientización, el diálogo, la participación, la importancia de la cotidianidad, la historia, la realidad subjetiva, el cuidado y la relación con el otro. Igualmente, se empieza a hablar de salud desde el concepto mismo que involucra al ser humano y los determinantes en salud que lo condicionan. Se referencia la priorización que se le ha dado al método cuantitativo, a la mirada biologista desde la salud, relacionando conceptos como atención primaria en salud, promoción de la salud y salud pública. Se hace igualmente una reflexión sobre la importancia para las ciencias de la salud, de la mirada en el ser humano objeto de su conocimiento, de manera que sea posible entenderlo en su cultura, costumbres, historia, lenguaje y así hasta sus gestos, para que los resultados del juicioso trabajo de investigación tengan eco en las personas, su grupo familiar, las comunidades y sea posible rescatar el sentido común y lograr resultados pertinentes.
dc.description.abstractenglishQualitative research has been a method used mainly in humanities and social sciences. This paper draws upon the definition of qualitative research, and various aspects related to it are discussed, including human behavior, awareness, dialogue, participation, the importance of everyday life, history, subjective reality and care and relationships with others. Additionally, the notion of health is primarily addressed from an approach that looks at the human being and their determinants of health.  Reference is made to the prioritization of the quantitative method, of the biological approach from health, relating concepts such as primary health care, health promotion and public health. The paper also includes a reflection on the importance for health sciences to address the human being as the object of their knowledge, so that it is possible to understand their culture, customs, history, language and even their gestures, in order that the results of judicious research work have an echo in people, their family group and communities and to make it possible to recover common sense and achieve relevant research results.eng
